How it all began...

As a stay at home mom and homemaker I knew that one day my job would be done and to the 'real' workforce I had to go.
Having never been much of a career women I didn't have a specific career to head back to and I was once again at a loss regarding what I wanted to be when (my kids) grow up.

As a lot of moms in my position may know, when you are responsible

- full time for your family, it is very easy to loose yourself along the way and I was no exception.

I knew my role as a mother, as a wife and as a homemaker. But who I was as a person had gotten lost somehow.

In the process of trying to find my identity again I started to focus on the things that I enjoyed doing. Crafting, refininishing, repourposing and ...baking.

I spent a year or two diving into each of my old hobbies, one at a time taking them 'off the back burner' and re-discovering the other things in life that I enjoyed. Along the way I noticed that I was starting to feel a bit more like me and in the kitchen is where I noticed this most!

I have very fond memories of afternoons in my grandmothers kitchen learning everything from making scrambled eggs to melt in your mouth shortbread. I remember taking my first cake out of the oven in a cloud of smoke and I remember being referred to as the cupcake lady by family and friends whenever a birthday rolled around.

With two little ones of my own and a bit of a perfectionists personality it wasn't long before I started expanding my knowledge of cake decorating and recipes to make each birthday and life event a little more special. A few cakes, dozens of cookies and hundreds of cupcakes later I was overwhelmed by the encouragement and support from my amazing family and friends telling me to "get out there and do what you love".

So here I am, not only a mother, a wife and a homemaker. I have found myself and I have found my calling, creating quality custom baking for all occasions and loving every minute of it!
